Summer Reading Book Bonanza Hybrid Book Sale

Smart Start Partnership for Children is thrilled to announce the upcoming Summer Reading Book Bonanza Hybrid Live and Virtual Book Sale. Reading four to five books over the summer can help to prevent a decline in reading skills. Smart Start is here to help by providing in-expensive, high-quality books for the community. Taking place over the weekend of May 14th through the 16th shoppers will have the opportunity to shop online and in-person. The Virtual event will take place on Smart Start Partnership’s for children Facebook page, search for the Virtual Sale Facebook group to learn more about shopping. The Virtual Sale will be comprised of boutique brand new and in great condition books priced $2 to $5. The live sale will be a ticketed timed event from 10AM to 3:30PM in the Smart Start Partnership for Children parking lot. Shoppers will purchase a $10 ticket in one of the hours slots and receive a large paper grocery bag to fill with as many books as they can carry! $10 for a whole bag of books. Books in the live sale will be gently used. To keep shoppers and the community safe Smart Start will allow 20 ticket holders at a time to shop in an hour slot. The time slots are listed below.
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Reserved for Teachers/ Nonprofit Practitioners/ Foster Parents)
11:15 AM – 12:15 PM
12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
1:45 PM – 2:45 PM
2:45 PM – 3:30 PM

Smart Start is excited to be creating an innovative hybrid model for this fundraising event. Communications and Development Director, Carrie Ann Chandler had this to say.
“We are dedicated to keeping our community safe and we miss our network of support. We are excited to have created a safe hybrid model to still serve our community and raise needed funds.”
All proceeds go to benefit the work of Smart Start Partnership for Children. Smart Start is working to build a strong foundation for the youngest members of our community. With a variety of activities including early literacy initiatives, health and nutrition, and early childcare support Smart Start is working towards a vision where every family in Henderson County has equitable access to resources, so every child has an opportunity to reach their full potential.
