Pets and Carpet – can they live together? Yes, but it takes some effort.

Do you have a dog or cat – or several? We do, too! We love them dearly, but they can be really rough on carpet. Day in and day out, we see just how rough at homes all around Asheville. Pets can bring in an amazing amount of dirt and hair. Here are some ideas from one pet lover to another about how to keep it under control.

Wipe Those Feet!

You can prevent pets from putting dirt on your carpet by. Keep a towel close to the door, especially on rainy days, and wipe their paws off when they come inside. It may take a few times for them (and your kids) to get used to the idea, but it will make a big difference. Once they know it’s part of the routine, it gets easy.

Add an Area Rug to the Room

Does your pet have a favorite area in the room? Consider putting an area rug there – you can find nice looking but inexpensive ones pretty easily, and train your pets to spend most of their time on the area rug and not the carpet.

Clean urine and feces quickly

If your pet makes deposits on your carpet, remove solid matter and blot up the liquid quickly with paper towels. Mix white vinegar and water half and half, and dampen the affected area with it

thoroughly, then blot up with paper towel. You can then use your Citrus Spotter spray bottle we leave with you to clean any remaining dirt and neutralize odor.

Brush regularly

It’s amazing how much pet hair we pull out of carpet every day when we are cleaning. The easiest way to keep it out of your carpet is to get it off your pet fist. Most pets love a good brushing, and if you have kids it’s a great task for them to do. They might just come to love making the family pets happy! Have your pets professionally groomed regularly if you can – but know that you can do a lot. 5 minutes of brushing a day will make an amazing difference.

Change the entryways to hard surface flooring

Consider installing hard floor near the pet entryways and doorways. There are many choices ranging from tile to laminate to vinyl that you can combine with a washable entry rug to prevent pets tracking dirt and grass into the carpet in the house.

Vacuum, vacuum, vacuum!!

Vacuuming regularly is the best thing you can do. If you can stay ahead of dirt and hair from building up in the carpet. You may have to vacuum your carpet several times a week. You will also need to vacuum your furniture. Any dirt that is on the furniture can easily end up on the carpet.

Confine Them to One Place

If you have a pet that keeps messing up your carpet, then you may want to consider putting them in a room that does not have carpet. You do not necessarily have to keep your pet in this area all of the time. You can just keep them there when you are not home or at night.

What Your Pet Eats Matters

Check out our friends at Woof Gang Bakery in Biltmore Park Town Square for great tasting, responsibly made pet foods. You don’t feed yourself or your kids junk food – check ingredients labels to see what your feeding your pets. Common pet foods are mostly made of corn meal and other ingredients that are not natural diet elements for dogs and cats.

Keep Those Nails Trimmed

Paws and claws damage carpet. Period. Get some trimmers and learn how to use them or have a professional groomer trim them regularly.

Have your carpets professionally cleaned regularly

The aforementioned tips will help, but depending on how well you can follow them, and how many pets you have, you will need to have your carpet professionally cleaned two or three times per year. Call CitruSolution of Asheville for the most effective, safest, natural carpet cleaning available.

The Dream Roper

Empowering Mature Americans to take back the control of their Lifestyles

Are you a senior whose retirement years aren’t what you had envisioned? Are you approaching your retirement years with worry and uncertainty? Are you a younger, working American who wants more control over your own financial destiny? If you answered yes to any of these questions, it’s time to call Ron McLean, the Dream Roper.

Ron Mclean The Dream Roper

In an age of too much gloom and doom, the Dream Roper helps to shine a light on a brighter path ahead. “I am all about restoring hope and vision, providing a roadmap to shed the limits of your circumstances and move boldly towards your God-given dreams,” Ron said. “You may agree with me that yes, without a doubt, you were created not just to exist, but to experience a fruitful life, a higher mission.”

Ron said he draws inspiration and direction from Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

This mission for the Dream Roper is to help mature Americans get back on track to their dreams of a healthy and prosperous lifestyle, and to help younger families take control of their finances and their lives. “There are seniors who have discovered that their dream retirement has become a nightmare,” Ron said. “It doesn’t have to be that way. Having been fired from my corporate job at the age of 65, I am now living a better lifestyle than ever before. I’m positioned to help others take advantage of their independence and freedom. What my clients need most is a willingness to open their minds to innovative solutions and a real desire to improve their lifestyles.”

Among these solutions are some simple yet powerful steps to put money back into the pockets of working families. “We’re helping families add $200 to $800 back into their monthly paychecks with just a few tweaks to their W-4s and by dramatically improving their credit scores without the need to hire expensive credit repair agencies,” Ron said.

Senior Retirement Strategy

Danielle K., one of the Dream Roper’s clients, called working with Ron an amazing opportunity. “My credit score went up 100+ points within the first month, and I was able to income shift and generate more take-home cash flow by correcting my husband’s W-4. Now we’re bringing home an additional $180 each pay period,” she said.

Ron breaks down his services in these ways:

  • Raising credit scores above 750, resulting in savings in car insurance and loans.
  • Making income shifts to pay down debt and live better.
  • Gain tax breaks to make and keep more of your money.
  • Adding additional income streams

Ron’s own story set him up to become the Dream Roper. “I was fired at 65 without the finances or desire for early retirement,” he said. “Since then, I have earned greater income and lived a superior lifestyle, while positioning myself for greater health. I feel energized in sharing what I’ve learned with others who find themselves in the same boat. I have learned how American families can quickly improve their financial situation, rather than being dragged down into debt. Not sharing these methods would be selfish on my part.”

Senior Living

Ron believes circumstances do not define you. “I feel that so many people have been beaten up by their circumstances that they have given up on their dreams. Don’t let circumstances govern your life. I am here to bring hope and a way out of the darkness, empowering you to be the victor, and not the victim. You were created for greatness and you can rise above your circumstances. Take action today for a better tomorrow.”

So if you want to take charge of your life today for a better tomorrow, call the Dream Roper today to explore your many possibilities. It’s an open road – the choice is yours!
